German leisure carrier Condor Airlines will operate services into San Antonio, Texas for the first time in summer 2024.

Further expanding its North American network, the carrier will offer the only connection to Europe from San Antonito.

From May through September 2024, it will operate non-stop flights from Frankfurt (FRA) to San Antonio (SAT) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Direct Flights to San Antonio

From May to September, travelers can look forward to non-stop flights to San Antonio every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The German leisure carrier is making history by being the only airline to offer a direct connection from Europe to San Antonio, Texas.

Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System, said Condor is a welcome addition for SAT, which will help attract other airlines and more destinations.

“This is just the beginning of so much more to come at SAT,” Saenz said. “We fully believe San Antonio will utilize this service to Europe and take advantage of Condor’s extremely competitive airfares. Once that happens, we anticipate Condor will expand their services even further.”

Ralf Teckentrup, the CEO of Condor, gave comment of the proposed expansion, saying, “North America is particularly popular with travelers, which is why we are happy to provide our guests with even more options for their flight.”

“For example, in summer 2024 we will be offering additional destinations as well as more connections to the most popular destinations in North America. A new addition to the flight schedule is San Antonio in Texas, which we are the only airline to fly directly to from Europe.”

Discovering San Antonio

“This a spectacular win for San Antonio,” said Mayor Ron Nirenberg during a news conference at the International Center.

“This is the first time people will be able to fly from SAT to Europe nonstop and vice-versa. Germany is where San Antonio has the most demand for travel in Europe because of the cultural, historic, tourism, military and business ties.”

SAT’s first-ever trans-Atlantic service on Condor will have an annual $34 million estimated economic impact to our region, Nirenberg said.
