CMA CGM Air Cargo is taking a significant leap forward in its development with the launch of a brand new transpacific route connecting Asia and North America this summer.

The operator will deploy two Boeing B777-200F freighters on transpacific route. The first freighter delivery is now scheduled for June 2024.

Eight Airbus A350F freighter aircraft are then to be delivered between 2026 and 2027, enabling global coverage.

This fleet ramp up marks a turning point for the company, solidifying its position as a key player in the global air freight market.

To ensure seamless service on this new route, CMA CGM Air Cargo is bolstering its fleet with two state-of-the-art Boeing B777-200F aircraft scheduled for delivery in 2024.

The first aircraft, arriving in June, will kickstart operations on the transpacific route in time for the peak season.

This plane will primarily serve major airports in Hong Kong, Chicago, and Seoul. The second B777-200F, arriving later in the year, will focus on connecting mainland China to North America.

CMA CGM Air Cargo will then take delivery of the third B777-200F in the first quarter of 2025.

These new additions join CMA CGM Air Cargo’s existing fleet, currently comprised of two B777F and three A330F aircraft stationed at the Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) hub.

Presently, the operator fields five weekly flights between Europe and Greater China to Hong Kong and four to Shanghai.

Additionally, two of their A330Fs serve a third-party client, while the remaining A330F maintains a thrice weekly route service between Paris, Mumbai, and Guangzhou.

Taking an Eco-Friendly Approach

CMA CGM Air Cargo’s commitment to expansion extends beyond just adding new routes and aircraft.

The company prioritizes environmental responsibility and is proud to be the launch customer for the Airbus A350F. The widebody freighter is the most fuel-efficient cargo aircraft currently available.

A fleet of eight A350Fs is scheduled for delivery in 2026. This will empower CMA CGM Air Cargo to establish a truly global network while significantly reducing their carbon footprint.

This eco-friendly approach aligns perfectly with the company’s dedication to sustainable transportation solutions.

Beyond its impressive network expansion, the freight operator caters to a wide range of air freight needs.

They offer specialized solutions for transporting sensitive products, including hazardous materials, temperature-controlled cargo, perishables, live animals, and high-value goods.
