China Eastern Airlines has had a presence at this month’s China Brand Day exhibition in Shanghai, displaying some high-tech innovations for both passengers and staff.

The China Brand Day events kicked off at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center this month, and was joined by over 1,000 Chinese brands.

China Brand Day

Originally established in 2017, China Brand Day seeks to raise awareness for brand development and innovation, and comprises an international forum and exposition.

The forum and its parallel sessions focus on a broad area of sectors including agriculture, manufacturing and services as well as topics including regional development.

This year’s event includes a special exhibition zone of nearly 60,000 square metres.

At the events, China Eastern Airlines (CEA) displayed its cabin services, in-flight meals, including its technological and innovative products for passengers.

The display includes interactive experiences with an aim to build an immersive experience for visitors, which neatly indicated the company’s commitment to creating positive experiences for travelers with targeted and meticulous services.

A newly developed mixed reality (MR) headset was a big hit at the China Brand Day. It integrates mobile equipment and digital technologies, and is widely used in aviation scenarios. The equipment attracted a number of visitors.

An aviation first for staff

in addition to its passenger services, CEA also exhibited a smart bracelet for its ground handling workers.

The smart bracelet is able to sense staff members’ motions in baggage handling and thus improve their work efficiency and ensure their occupational health.

The bracelet is the first of its kind in the civil aviation industry and is gradually being distributed to relevant CEA employees.

Not all of the exhibit was dedicated to technology, of course. The exposition covers a broad range of initiatives, and for the airline, in-flight catering and food services was central.

At the center of CEA’s exhibition booth, there were in-flight meals and drinks newly launched by CEA’s Excellent Sky Chef, including the MU Catering “Zhen,”MU Catering “Huan,” MUNoodles and MUTea series.

International passengers flying to and from China with CEA will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious food served by CEA’s “Lingyan” crews.

CEA also attended a conference on the global communication of Chinese brands, a sub-event of the China Brand Day.
