On the onward connectivity beyond Seattle, this is what Taipei-based China Airlines had to say on this:

“China Airlines seeks to take advantage of the strong demand in the US-Taiwan travel market and addition of the non-stop service to Seattle represents an important step in the carrier’s expansion of its North American network.”

“More than 50 million travelers passed through Seattle Airport in 2023 making it the largest airport in Northwest USA.”

“The new Seattle service features morning arrivals and evening departures for the convenience of travelers flying to and from North America or major cities in Asia.”

“China Airlines can also provide interline ticketing to 50 popular inland destination cities, including Portland, Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas, Orlando, and Atlanta.”

“Expansion of the US inland market strengthens the overall air network.”

As well as Seattle, China Airlines also provides direct flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York & Vancouver from Taipei.

In conclusion, this is big news for China Airlines as they get to expand their North American footprint further.

The Seattle-Taipei flights will build on the 40 weekly flights that they operate into the continent as well.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on the initial performance of the route, to see if further expansion can be facilitated.

But for now, let’s see how the airline’s 2024 performs.
