Frontier Airlines has this week begun its bolstered services into Montego Bay from Denver and Chicago Midway.

The carrier’s focus for this week has been the Jamaican destination and has added four weekly flights to its network.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

February 24 saw Frontier Airlines launch services between Denver International Airport and Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. Services will operate on a thrice-weekly basis.

Daniel Shurz, the airline’s Senior VP of Commercial, commented on this inauguration:

“As Denver’s hometown airline, we are proud to be celebrating a milestone as the only airline to connect the Mile High City with nonstop service to Jamaica”.

“With an extensive operation at DEN— that’s only growing larger— now is the perfect time to take advantage of convenient and affordable travel options thanks to Frontier’s ‘Low Fares Done Right.’”

“Stunning Jamaican beaches are easier to reach than ever before with our new exclusive nonstop service to the island.”

The CEO of Denver Airport, Phillip A. Washington, added to Frontier’s comments, saying:

“Expanding our global connections is a key pillar of our Vision 100 plan”.

“This brand-new, international destination for DEN not only enhances the value we bring to our customers, it also brings us one step closer to our Vision 100 goals and provides another amazing beach destination for Colorado travelers.”

Then, just yesterday, Frontier launched its seasonal non-stop service between Chicago Midway International Airport and Montego Bay.

This service for Frontier Airlines will operate on a once-weekly basis from Chicago’s secondary airport.

Shurz, who commented on the Denver launch, also gave his two cents on the launch of Chicago-Montego Bay:

“We’re thrilled to provide those in Chicagoland convenient and affordable travel to one of the most popular vacation destinations in the Caribbean”.

“We know Jamaica is a favorite among Chicagoans, and we’re excited to offer ‘Low Fares Done Right’ to escape the winter cold for some fun and excitement in Montego Bay.”

Commissioner Jamie L. Rhee of the Chicago Department of Aviation added to these comments:

“On behalf of Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, I join the entire team at Midway in welcoming Frontier’s new nonstop service to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay”.

“This new seasonal service to Jamaica will further connect Chicago to a long list of tropical destinations during our winter and spring seasons and bolster our status as one of the world’s best-connected international hub cities.”

It remains clear that Frontier Airlines is pressing ahead with growth out of the Montego Bay area, with the Chicago & Denver markets standing to benefit from this.

Looking ahead, it is going to be interesting to see what demand will be like on these routes and whether we can see some frequency upgrades moving forward.

But for now, all eyes are on Frontier Airlines to see how it will perform in 2023.
