The 400th Airbus aircraft celebration by easyJet in Hamburg is a culmination of a 20-year relationship between both sides.

Nowadays, the airline in orange has over 330 aircraft in service built by the European planemaker.

It is understood the 400th jet was sent to Berlin Brandenburg, where it will commence first flights soon.

On the aircraft itself is a special “400th Aircraft” decal that is painted using little airplanes.

Such growth is still needed for easyJet with these Airbus aircraft in Hamburg, especially having handled 83m passengers in 2023.

Both sides celebrated the special occasion of the 400th Airbus aircraft delivered to easyJet.

David Morgan, the COO of the airline had this to say on the milestone:

“We are really pleased to take delivery of our 400th aircraft from Airbus which also coincided with our 20th anniversary of operating in Germany.

“As we continue our fleet renewal programme with more fuel-efficient, quieter aircraft from the A320neo family we are proud to continue working with Airbus and CFM who both have a tenacious approach to manufacturing and sustainability and continue to be reliable partners for easyJet.”

Adding to this was Benoit de Saint Exupery, the planemaker’s EVP for Sales:

“It’s a mark of easyJet’s commitment to minimise fuel burn and emissions by operating the latest technology aircraft, that it has taken a little over 20 years to deliver its 400th Airbus aircraft, averaging an impressive 20 new Airbus aircraft deliveries every year, since 2003.”

In conclusion, this is a significant milestone for both easyJet and Airbus with their 400th aircraft.

Both sides have been joined at the hip for the last 20 years, and has been responsible for a lot of the airline’s growth.

With many more aircraft on the way, it will be interesting to see how the airline grows around this.

But for now, it is all celebrations in Hamburg.
