British Airways has revealed this week that they will be adding more flights to Delhi from London, in a big boost for the market.

It is understood that when the new flights are in place, the airline will service India a staggering 63 times per week.

The New London-Delhi Flights with British Airways…


British Airways has revealed this week that they will be adding more flights to Delhi from London, in a big boost for the market.

The additional daily flights between London and Delhi will be added by British Airways on April 20 next year.

It is understood that subject to government approval, this will be the scheduling for the new flights:

  • BA136 – DEP LHR 1630 ARR DEL 0535+1
  • BA137 – DEP DEL 0740 ARR LHR 1250

At this stage, British Airways operates around 56 flights per week to India, with this broken down into:

  • Mumbai – Thrice daily.
  • Delhi – Twice daily.
  • Chennai – Once daily.
  • Bengaluru – Once daily.
  • Hyderabad – Once daily.

It is understood that the additional Delhi flights from London will be serviced with British Airways’ Boeing 787-8 aircraft.

Commenting on this milestone was Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer:

“I’m delighted to announce the addition of a third daily flight from the vibrant capital city of India, Delhi offering convenient travel choices from India to London Heathrow, and to our extensive worldwide network of more than 200 destinations.”

Adding to this was Moran Birger, Head of Sales Asia Pacific and Middle East at British Airways:

“This significant historical year is a testament to our longstanding relationship with India, built over the last 100 years and reflecting our deep-rooted commitment to the country and its people.”

“We eagerly anticipate welcoming passengers on board our new flights and continuing our legacy of excellence in the skies.”

In conclusion, this is strong news for British Airways, with markets like Delhi showing significant promise.

With weekly flights to India expected to reach 63 by 2025, it shows exactly how much demand the airline is receiving.

Furthermore, all eyes will be on whether anymore expansion in India will be unveiled following the expansion of bilateral flight agreements.
