The State of Florida continues to be the focus for Breeze Airways. These two new routes to Tampa & Orlando from Springfield reflects that.

Back in July, the carrier announced 11 new seasonal routes due to operate between November 2023-April 2024 into the state. Their destinations are, from the airport of Fort Myers, as follows:

  • Akron-Canton, Ohio
  • Columbus, Ohio
  • Louisville, Kentucky
  • New Orleans, Louisiana
  • Norfolk, Virginia
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina
  • Richmond, Virginia
  • Syracuse, New York.

On top of this, back in February, the airline announced new routes from Providence, Rhode Island to the likes of Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.

The point of these flights into warmer climates such as Orlando & Tampa is to encourage winter travel to the state, especially from areas which will be known to be quite cold during the periods November-April.

As per data from Planespotters.net, the airline currently have a fleet of 33 aircraft, which are as follows at the time of writing:

  • 15 Airbus A220-300s.
  • 10 Embraer ERJ-190s.
  • 7 Embraer ERJ-195s.

Some jets are parked currently, but with new route additions, it remains clear that these aircraft will be utilized to fill any gaps experienced in the network with these new routes coming up.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on Breeze Airways to see how the two new routes of Springfield to Orlando & Tampa perform over the Winter season.
