This is the first time Batik Air has returned to Kunming since suspending operations in the wake of the Covid pandemic back in February 2020, over three years ago.

The resumed service is operated on a twice-weekly basis on Wednesdays and Fridays using the carrier’s Airbus A320 fleet capable of carrying up to 164 passengers over a mix of business class and economy class offerings.

However, it is expected that from July 9, Batik Air will increase the service to three weekly, adding a Sunday service to their Kunming rotations.

Flight ID7603 departs Jakarta’s Soekarno Hatta International Airport (CGK) at 20.00 p.m. local time and arrives at Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG) at 02.10 a.m. local time the following morning.

The return flight ID7602 leaves Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG) at 03.10 a.m. local time and arrives back at Jakarta’s Soekarno Hatta International Airport (CGK) at 07.20 a.m. local time.

The carrier currently has a fleet of 69 aircraft, broken down into 37 Airbus A320s, two Airbus A330s, and 30 Boeing 737-800s.

Overall

It is great to see Batik Air resuming its Kunming service in the wake of the pandemic. It is yet another great sign that the Chinese aviation sector is slowly returning back to its usually expected demand and growth rates, now that their Covid restrictions have been relaxed.
