Services will begin on December 20, 2023 and continue until February 6, 2024 using an Airbus A330 to operate this route between Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne.

Batik Air flight OD175 will depart at 1820 local time, and arrive into the Australian airport at 0515 local time the next morning.

As for the return, being OD176, this will depart at 0645 local time, and arrive back into it’s base at 1210 local time.

The services between Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne with Batik Air will operate on a four times per week basis.

Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, Group Strategic Director of Batik Air said the following on this:

“We are thrilled to introduce this wide-body direct flight to Melbourne, which is a testament to our commitment to meeting our passengers’ needs.

“Melbourne stands as a top-tier vacation destination and we have recognised the increasing demand for direct connectivity to Australia especially during the peak holidays and travel season.”

“This move is part of the efforts by Batik Air to improve the offerings for the Melbourne market,”

“We invite travellers to take advantage of the introductory fares while enjoying the warm services that come with flying with Batik Air on our A330 aircraft”.

All eyes will be on how this new service performs, as well as whether there is scope to expand this further than February 2024.
