Bangkok Airways voted World’s Best Regional Airline” and “Best Regional Airline in Asia”

At the Paris Air Show, Bangkok Airways, a Bangkok-based airline has been once again, named the winner of two highly sought awards. The first was the World’s Best Regional Airline and The Best Regional Airline in Asia at the 2023 World Airline Awards.

The awards were given to the airline’s president Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth and its management at the ceremony at the Paris Air Show. 

Longest Streak?


This is the seventh uninterrupted year that the Thai airline has been selected as the World’s Best Regional Airline and Best Regional Airline in Asia. These prestigious awards are chosen by its esteemed customers.

Bangkok Airways has never failed to disappoint its travellers, as witnessed by the awards won. These awards are considered the Oscars of the aviation industry, voted by paying and genuine passengers. How long will Bangkok Airways be able to maintain the streak?

Bangkok Airways was founded 55 years ago as Sahakol Air, flying cargo flights. Today it has emerged as one of Thailand’s best airlines in terms of quality service and soft products. This could be shown by the airline has won the award for the seventh consecutive year. 

The airline operates a fleet of 35 aircraft, which is not really the most modern. The airline operates 4 A320s, 13 A319s, and 10 ATRs. The airline’s base is in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, with a secondary hub at Samui Airport, an airport owned and operated by the airline itself.

From its Samui hub, they operate flights to Southern China, Singapore, and soon to Hong Kong. The airline has enjoyed its reputation as a premium leisure carrier and flies to regional destinations around Thailand, including ASEAN, Southern China, India, and the Maldives. 

Bangkok Airways has plans to indite new aircraft in its fleet and is seriously eyeing the A220, with E2s and the A320NEO family being strong contenders.
