The Bahamas has celebrated a milestone, being the first nonstop Los Angeles-Nassau flight courtesy of JetBlue.
It is understood this happened over the weekend when JetBlue flight 2710 from the West Coast airport arrived at the airport and was welcomed in true Bahamian style.

Bahamas Celebrates First Nonstop Los Angeles-Nassau Flight…
JetBlue flight B26710 departed Los Angeles at 0700 local time on the dot on November 4, and flew nearly five hours east to Nassau, Bahamas.
The flight was operated by N976JT, one of the airline’s Airbus A321 aircraft on this historic day for the island.

Commenting on the milestone was the Deputy Prime Minister of the Island, Honourable I. Chester Cooper:
“As we have seen, this direct link between coasts will open doors for countless travellers to experience the beauty, warmth and rich heritage of our country without the hassle of multiple connections,”
“We are thrilled to continue welcoming passengers on the new JetBlue service, ensuring their arrival to our shores is nothing short of extraordinary.”
Adding to this was Erik Hildebrandt, the Director of Domestic Cities at JetBlue:
“We are excited to introduce a new option to connect our customers in Los Angeles to the destinations they want to fly”.
“This new service to Nassau will bring more great service and everyday low fares to more customers, will expand our network and international presence in the Caribbean and open a direct option to Nassau, a world class and popular destination.”
All eyes will be on how well this route performs, especially with another gateway provided to the Bahamas in the form of Los Angeles.
