Azores Airlines will launch a twice-weekly service to London from June 4, which will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The flight will depart Ponta Delgada at 0750 local time and arrive into the UK capital at 1335 local time.

As for the Milan route, this service will begin on June 5 on Wednesdays and Fridays, with that flight departing at 0725 local time, and will arrive at 1420 local time.

Commenting on the new routes was Teresa Gonçalves, CEO of Azores Airlines and SATA Group:

“Both London and Milan are very relevant source markets. Milan is a long-identified opportunity, considering the interest already expressed in the Azores destination.”

“London is a traffic confluence point with enormous potential.”

“With these two operations, Azores Airlines provides more options to passengers residing in the Azores, as well as new opportunities for connecting traffic, which has been increasingly and steadily using airline connections to reach North America and Europe”.

Overall, all eyes will be on the carrier to see how these new routes to London and Milan perform over the Summer 2024 season, because there could always be scope to operate more flights per week going into the future.
