US ultra-low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines has exciting news for the residents of the greater Salem/Portland region. The airline has announced exclusive nonstop services from Salem Municipal Airport (SLE) to two popular destinations: Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
First commercial service in 15 years
This announcement is something of a milestone as Avelo becomes the first commercial airline to serve Salem Municipal Airport in almost 15 years.
Moreover, Avelo is the only airline offering nonstop flights from SLE to the Entertainment Capital of the World and Southern California.
Salem, strategically located in Oregon’s beautiful Willamette Valley, is surrounded by nearly 100 cities, including prominent ones like Portland, Eugene, Corvallis, and Beaverton.
With 70% of Oregon’s population residing in the Valley, Avelo’s new service at Salem Municipal Airport brings unparalleled convenience for travelers heading to Southern California and Las Vegas.
Flight commencements
Beginning on October 5, 2023, Avelo will operate twice-weekly nonstop flights on Thursdays and Sundays between Salem and Las Vegas.

Additionally, the airline will offer twice-weekly nonstop service on Fridays and Mondays between Salem and Burbank Airport (BUR) starting from October 6, 2023.
It should also be noted that the Salem-Burbank route will shift to Thursdays and Sundays from November 2. To provide a comfortable and reliable travel experience, Avelo will deploy its Boeing Next-Generation (NG) 737 aircraft on both routes.
