As part of their ever-growing destination list, Avelo has this week announced that three new destinations will be joining their route network. Those three are –

  • Brownsville-South Padre Island International Airport (BRO) in Texas.
  • Charlottesville Albemarle Airport (CHO) in Virginia.
  • Colorado Springs Airport (COS) in Colorado.

Adding these three new destinations to their network will bring Avelo to a total of 35 destinations that they now serve across the U.S.

All of these new services will be operated by Avelo’s growing fleet of Boeing 737NGs, of which the carrier currently has 15 in service, broken down as eight Boeing 737-800s and seven Boeing 737-700s.

By adding Brownsville to their destination list, Avelo becomes the only airline to provide a non-stop service for SpaceX employees from their Californian headquarters and Floridian Space Coast to their South Texas Spaceport.

From the carrier’s base in California, at Hollywood-Burbank Airport (BUR), they will begin to serve both Brownsville-South Padre Island and Colorado Springs. Out of these two new routes, Colorado Springs will commence first, inaugurating on May 3, and operating three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Brownsville will follow shortly after, inaugurating on May 17, and being served on a twice-weekly basis on both Wednesdays and Saturdays.

From Burbank, adding Brownsville and Colorado Springs will bring Avelo’s route list to a total of 10 alongside Boise (BOI); Pasco Tri-Cities (PSC); three Oregon cities: Bend/Redmond (RDM), Eugene (EUG), and Medford/Rogue Valley (MFR); and three other Californian cities: Sonoma/Santa Rosa (STS), Eureka/Arcata (ACV) and Redding (RDD).

From the carrier’s base in Florida, at Orlando International Airport (MCO), they will begin to serve both Brownsville-South Padre Island and Charlottesville. Out of these two new routes, Charlottesville will commence first, inaugurating on May 3, and operating on a twice-weekly basis on Mondays and Fridays.

Brownsville will follow shortly after, inaugurating again on May 17, and being also served on a twice-weekly basis on both Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Executive Comments

Commenting on the U.S. carrier’s newest destinations, to their ever-growing list, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Levy, has said, “Avelo is growing again. The addition of these three new destinations and four new exclusive nonstop routes exemplifies our commitment to bringing affordable, convenient, and reliable air service to unserved and underserved communities across the country.”

“We are confident the low fares and smooth travel experience we are introducing to these three new communities will inspire their residents to travel even more. As a Houston-based company, we are especially excited to welcome our first Texas market to Avelo’s network.”
