Avelo Airlines has announced it is upgrading pilot compensation to an hourly rate that exceeds all regional carriers and most Ultra-Low-Cost-Carriers (ULCC).

This significant pay raise marks the fifth increase Avelo pilots have received since the airline’s inaugural flight in April 2021, reflecting Avelo’s dedication to its flight crew.

Expanding Operations

With nearly 170 pilots already on board and a continuous influx of Direct-Entry Captains and First Officers joining every month, Avelo Airlines is rapidly expanding its operations.

Looking ahead to 2024, Avelo has ambitious plans to further bolster its fleet by adding at least five American-made Boeing 737NGs to its existing 16-aircraft fleet.

In addition, the airline is set to inaugurate a state-of-the-art Pilot and Flight Attendant Training Center in Orlando, promising to be a leading endeavor at the start of the year.

Competitive Compensation

Avelo Airlines’ compensation packages for its pilots are designed to attract and retain the best talent. The hourly pay rates for the first year for Captains start at $240 and increase to $298 by the twelfth year, making it a highly competitive option in the industry.

First Officers also enjoy a competitive starting hourly rate of $131, which climbs to $201 at year 12. Additionally, Avelo Airlines sweetens the deal by offering an impressive 125% incentive for pilots who log 75 hours or more.

Opportunities for Aspiring Pilots

Avelo Airlines is actively seeking Direct-Entry Captains and First Officers to join their team. This presents an exciting opportunity for experienced captains and budding aviation professionals to embark on a rewarding journey with a forward-thinking airline.

The quality of life Avelo offers its pilots is unrivaled, with the lowest flight cancellation rate and the second-best on-time performance among U.S. carriers year-to-date.
