Avelo Airlines has inaugurated its sixth U.S. base at Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). This becomes the second West Coast base for the US low-cost carrier.
Avelo Airlines’ Founder, Chairman, and CEO, Andrew Levy, expressed his excitement about the new base, stating, “As they say, ‘What Happens in Vegas, Can Only Happen in Vegas,’ and that makes Las Vegas a winning bet for our sixth base.”
“We are excited to start the exclusive nonstop access to Vegas that Avelo’s new base will offer our Customers from these six communities, with more to come in the future.”
“Vegas has something for everyone and Avelo’s affordability, convenience, and reliability will make getting to this popular destination easier than ever. The new flights, destinations, and jobs our new base enables hits the jackpot for Las Vegas, Avelo, and, most importantly, our Customers.”
Andrew Levy’s connection to Las Vegas runs deep, as he was a co-founder and served as the longtime president of Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air, helping build one of America’s most successful airlines.
At Avelo, Levy is joined by other former Allegiant leaders, including Chief Operating Officer Greg Baden, who hosted today’s opening ceremony at LAS.

Las Vegas Base
Las Vegas joins Avelo’s five existing bases, further solidifying the airline’s commitment to expanding its reach. Avelo’s new LAS base coincides with the inauguration of six new destinations, making it an exciting time for both the airline and travelers alike.
Avelo Airlines takes pride in its commitment to reliability. Initially basing one 147-seat Boeing Next-Generation (NG) 737-700 aircraft at LAS, Avelo has achieved an impressive 99.34% completion factor since serving Las Vegas in October 2021.
This means that less than 1% of its LAS flights were canceled over the past 11 months. In 2023, Avelo also ranks #1 in completion factor, underscoring its dedication to on-time performance, where it holds the #2 position in the U.S. Avelo is making travel as simple, convenient, and reliable as possible.
Since its inaugural flight on April 28, 2021, Avelo has now served over three million customers on nearly 25,000 flights.
Today, Avelo serves 45 destinations across 23 states and Puerto Rico. The airline has transformed air travel by flying to unserved routes, primarily serving underserved communities.
Every Avelo journey includes at least one small hometown airport, making the travel experience more accessible and enjoyable.
Avelo’s fleet of American-made Boeing 737 jets offers a more spacious and comfortable experience compared to small regional aircraft commonly used at many airports.
Customers seeking advance seat assignments can choose from several affordably priced seating options, including seats with extra legroom, as well as pre-reserved window and aisle seating. With one-third of seats offering extra legroom, Avelo ensures a comfortable journey for all.
