A network expansion at Wilmington Airport (ILG) will see Avelo Airlines offer Delaware residents two new nonstop routes to the sunny destinations of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida.
This move positions Avelo Airlines as the first carrier to offer nonstop flights from Wilmington Airport (ILG) to destinations outside the continental United States.
This new route service is set to transform ILG into a convenient, affordable, and travel-friendly alternative to the bustling Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).
New Routes, New Horizons
Come November, travelers will have the opportunity to explore the picturesque beaches and vibrant culture of San Juan, Puerto Rico, as well as the laid-back charm of Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida, all through Avelo Airlines’ new nonstop routes.
The airline’s commitment to affordable travel is evident in the special introductory one-way fares, starting at just $99 for San Juan and $49 for Sarasota-Bradenton.
Avelo Airlines’ inaugural flight to San Juan is scheduled for November 15, 2023, with nonstop service offered twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Similarly, the airline will begin servicing Sarasota-Bradenton on November 2, 2023, offering twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays.

These flights will be operated using the modern and spacious Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 aircraft, each accommodating up to 189 passengers. These aircraft are conveniently stationed at ILG.
