Avelo Airlines will operate a new nonstop service from Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) to Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) – the gateway to the New England and New York regions.

Avelo Airlines – first low-cost carrier

The new service at Daytona Beach means that Avelo will effectively become the airport’s first low-fare airline.

Avelo’s nonstop service begins on June 22 with twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays. The route will be operated by Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.

Avelo Airlines Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy said, “Daytona Beach – say hello to Avelo! We look forward to introducing the Daytona Beach region to Avelo’s low fares, industry-leading reliability and caring service.”

“With hometown airport access to Southern Connecticut, travel from DAB is now easier than ever. This new route will also make it easy for Connecticut residents to discover all that Daytona Beach has to offer.”

Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach area is a popular tourist destination located on the east coast of Florida in the United States. It includes the city of Daytona Beach, as well as several other cities and towns in the surrounding area.

The Daytona Beach area is perhaps best known for its beautiful beaches, which stretch for miles along the Atlantic Ocean.

The area is also home to several famous landmarks, such as the Daytona International Speedway, which hosts the Daytona 500 NASCAR race each year.

The Speedway also hosts other events throughout the year, including sports car races, motorcycle races, and music festivals.

In addition to the beaches and the Speedway, the Daytona Beach area has a number of other attractions and activities to offer visitors.

These include water sports like surfing, boating, and fishing, as well as golf courses, parks, and museums. The area also has a vibrant nightlife scene, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and clubs to choose from.

Daytona Beach International Airport Director Karen Feaste said, “We are thrilled to welcome Avelo, our airport’s first low-fare carrier, to Daytona Beach & Volusia County.”

“This service opens our area to a market of travelers who now are only a direct flight away from our beautiful beaches, miles of nature trails and endless opportunities for fun and sun. Plus, our community now has direct flight options to one of our more popular travel regions.”

HVN – The New Haven Way to Connecticut

Amidst the crowds, long lines, lengthy walks and traffic congestion encountered at other airports frequented by travelers to and from the region, HVN offers a refreshingly smooth and simple alternative hometown airport experience.

HVN’s adjacency to multiple major highways and commuter railways make visiting the New England and New York regions easier than ever.

Best known as the home of Yale University, New Haven is the second largest city in Connecticut and is part of the New York metropolitan area.

The coastal city has experienced – and continues to enjoy – a renaissance. Within an easy stroll from the New Haven Green are more than 100 distinctive restaurants, offering something for every palate, and the city abounds with theaters, museums, and shopping destinations to satisfy all interests and tastes.
