LONDON – Flybondi, the first low cost airline in Argentina, welcomed 2023 with the announcement of good news and the continuity of its investment plan in the country.

Last week, the airline took delivery of its twelfth aircraft. The new fleet addition, a Boeing 737-800 NG from Arkansas, United States arrived in the country on 11 January 2023.

The aircraft will begin its commercial operation after carrying out the administrative registration and certification processes and will bear the registration number LV-KEF.

Fleet expansion

As announced some months ago, the airline also launched a search for at least 5 Boeing 737 aircraft on the leasing market to continue supplementing its fleet during 2023.

Thanks to the success of this plan, which allowed the fleet and offer to be doubled, its market share more than doubled compared to 2019.

Currently with a market share of 21% for domestic flights and 5% for the international market, the company it is positioned and reaffirmed as the second largest airline in the country. Likewise, its flights have an occupancy level above 90%.

Closing the year with the arrival of its 11 Boeing 737 aircraft, Mauricio Sana, CEO of Flybondi had noted the airline’s achievements for the year, saying:

Thanks to the 2X plan we had great internal growth, adding more than 600 people to the aviation industry and generating more than 13,500 indirect jobs throughout the Argentine territory.”

“Next year we will continue to grow, with more planes, increasing our connectivity network with more frequencies, new destinations so that more people have the freedom to fly”.

Network and service expansions

Flybondi recently announced its third interprovincial route and as of March 2 it will once again connect the provinces of Córdoba and Salta. The connection will have 3 weekly frequencies on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Another new milestone to start the year celebrating was the achievement of the first days of January in which the company reached 6,000,000 passengers transported since the start of its operation.

In this result you can see the growth of supply and market share that the airline had in the last two years. It is important to highlight that the first flyers remain among its passengers: 20% of the people who travel on the low cost are people who fly for the first time in their lives.
