Regourd Aviation’s Amelia furthers its commitment to expansion with the lease of three Airbus A320 aircraft from AerCap.

The first A320 was successfully delivered to Amelia in April 2024, with the remaining two expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

This addition significantly bolsters Amelia’s Airbus fleet, which is projected to reach six aircraft by year’s end.

Amelia Fleet Expansion

Alain Regourd, CEO of Amelia, offered comment on the new lease acquisition.

“The arrival of this A320 signifies Amelia’s dedication to growth and the continued development of our ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) offerings.”

“By the close of 2024, we will have integrated three A320s into our fleet, strategically distributed between our French and Slovenian Air Operator Certificates (AOCs).”

Regourd expressed his gratitude to AerCap and its partners for their seamless collaboration in the delivery process. He also extended a warm welcome to the new crew members who will be operating the incoming aircraft this summer.

A Legacy in European and African Aviation

Founded in 1976 by Alain Regourd, Regourd Aviation has steadily carved itself a niche. It maintains a presence in both the European and African aviation sectors. The company prioritizes safety, exceptional standards, and on-time performance.

Regourd Aviation initially focused on aircraft sales and acquisitions. It then expanded its operations to include flight services and establishing specialized subsidiaries.

In 2019, the carrier was established to unify the group’s European endeavors under a single brand.

Charting a Course for European Expansion

The group’s European expansion began in 2012 with the acquisition of Amelia International (formerly Aero4M). This was a Slovenian company specializing in helicopter base and line maintenance.

Since then, Amelia International has flourished, achieving IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) approval and establishing itself as a certified Airline Operating Center (AOC) and Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO).

In 2015, Amelia Tech (formerly Airmain), the group’s dedicated maintenance subsidiary, was founded in Saint-Brieuc.

It’s exclusive focus on the group’s aircraft allows for meticulous fleet monitoring. It conforms with European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Part 145 regulations pertaining to European maintenance, quality, and safety.

The creation of the Amelia brand in 2019 marked a pivotal moment, solidifying the group’s European presence with the acquisition of two AOCs.

Of these, one was in Slovenia (Amelia International) and the other in France (Amelia).

This strategic deployment culminated in the launch of the first scheduled routes operated under the Amelia brand: Rodez – Paris Orly, Brive – Paris Orly, and Strasbourg – Amsterdam.

In 2021, Amelia, the French airline, attained IOSA certification, further solidifying its commitment to safety excellence.

To support regional economies and fuel its growth trajectory, the group opened a second maintenance center, Amelia System, in Rodez in April 2021.
