A team consisting entirely of women have handled the arrival of 70th aircraft for Mexican low-cost carrier Viva Aerobus.
The new Airbus A321neo aircraft, registered XA-VXI has arrived at Monterey International Airport on delivery to the Mexican carrier Viva Aerobus from the Airbus facility in Hamburg in Germany.
Notably, the entire operation was handled by female operational staff, including aircrew, ground and administration staff, flight operations and engineering support operatives.
The latest aircraft inducted into the carriers all-Airbus fleet takes the total of A321’s to 28. The airline also operates 42 A320 family aircraft. Data from Planespotters shows an average age of 5.2 years across the entire fleet of Airbus aircraft.
In other news for the Mexican airline, flight services from Quito, Ecuador to Cancún International Airport are planned to commence in June this year.
Viva Aerobus will offer a thrice weekly service on the international route from June 2023, according to local news source the Mexico Daily Post.
Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa announced the new route service stating via her social media channels: “We continue to connect Quintana Roo with more destinations in the world.”

“Now with the new international route, starting in June, VivaAerobus Cancun-Quito will have a frequency of three flights per week. It is the first route that will directly connect both destinations.”
