Summer is here, but with advanced travel demand surging, Alaska Airlines has exciting news for travel enthusiasts with the addition of three new routes for the winter holiday season.

For those seeking the vibrant city life of Miami, the iconic sights of New York City, or the thrill of Las Vegas, Alaska Airlines has it all covered.

Portland-Miami: A Coast-to-Coast Connection

Starting from November 17, Alaska Airlines will be offering daily, year-round flights connecting the West Coast to the East Coast.

This nonstop service becomes the fourth Florida city served by Alaska Airlines from Portland, joining the ranks of Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Tampa.

With 96 peak-daily flights to 42 nonstop destinations, Portland has established itself as a key hub for Alaska Airlines. Miami, being the largest underserved city from Portland, is a natural addition to the airline’s expanding network.

David Zielke, the director of air service development at the Port of Portland, expressed excitement about the partnership with Alaska Airlines and the growing opportunities it brings for travelers. The new Portland-Miami route is a testament to the airline’s commitment to providing diverse options for its passengers.

Palm Springs-New York JFK: Connecting Sunshine and the Big Apple

For Southern California residents seeking an escape to the East Coast, Alaska Airlines introduces a seasonal flight that connects Palm Springs with the bustling city of New York.

With convenient morning departures from New York’s JFK airport, travelers can arrive in Palm Springs refreshed and ready to soak in the sun.

Alaska Airlines offers more flights to Palm Springs than any other airline, solidifying its position as a preferred carrier for those looking to explore the desert oasis.

Harry Barrett, the executive director of aviation at Palm Springs International Airport, welcomed Alaska Airlines’ nonstop service to JFK and highlighted the positive impact it will have on the economic growth and vitality of the region.

The new route not only strengthens the connection between Palm Springs and one of the world’s most influential cities but also enhances travel options for passengers.

San Luis Obispo-Las Vegas

Alaska Airlines takes pride in connecting its California guests in innovative ways, and the San Luis Obispo-Las Vegas route is a perfect example of this commitment.

By establishing a daily connection between the Central Coast region of California and Las Vegas, passengers gain access to a broader network of routes.

From San Luis Obispo, Alaska Airlines also offers nonstop flights to San Diego, Portland, and Seattle, opening up a world of possibilities for travel enthusiasts.

Courtney Johnson, the director of airports for San Luis Obispo County, noted the growing demand for travel between these two destinations as the driving force behind the introduction of this service. With the new Las Vegas-San Luis Obispo route, the airport anticipates an increase in passenger traffic, benefiting not only the airport but the region as a whole.

Focus on service

While the focus is on the exciting new routes, Alaska Airlines remains committed to providing exceptional service to its passengers.

The airline’s mainline aircraft and regional jets offer a three-class cabin, ensuring a comfortable journey for everyone. Passengers in First Class and Premium Class enjoy early boarding privileges and the most generous legroom among domestic carriers.

First Class passengers can indulge in complimentary hot meals from a seasonal menu, featuring a variety of fresh, West Coast-inspired flavors, along with a selection of beverages.

Premium Class passengers are treated to complimentary cocktails, hand-selected wines, and local beers, allowing them to sit back and relax during their flight.

To enhance the inflight experience, Alaska Airlines offers power outlets at every seat on its mainline aircraft, allowing passengers to enjoy hundreds of free movies and TV shows on their personal devices.

The flights also come equipped with streaming-fast satellite Wi-Fi, which passengers can purchase, and the option to pre-order from a range of fresh meal selections.
