Leaving behind a strong legacy of achievement, AirAsia X Chairman Tunku Dato’ Mahmood Fawzy Bin Tunku Muhiyiddin has ended his service effective from December 15.

Tunku Dato’ Mahmood Fawzy Bin Tunku Muhiyiddin concluded his role as Chairman of AirAsia X (AAX) on December 15, 2023.

His departure marks the end of an era, leaving behind a profound legacy of accomplishments and reshaping the narrative for the low-cost mid-range airline.

A Visionary Appointment


Tunku Dato’ Mahmood Fawzy took the helm with a clear mandate – to address AAX’s Practice Note 17 (PN17) classification.

The challenges were daunting, with 12 consecutive quarters of losses casting a shadow over the airline’s financial health. However, his visionary leadership began to chart a new course for AAX.

AAX Independent Non-executive Director Farouk Kamal will also leave his position in the company to pursue new opportunities within Capital A, to be announced in due course.
