AirAsia Named Official Airline for Malaysia-China Summit 2024

AirAsia has been named the Official Airline Partner for the upcoming Malaysia-China Summit 2024 (MCS 2024).

This partnership strengthens the summit’s position as a key event celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China.

As the largest foreign low-cost carrier connecting Malaysia and China, AirAsia will offer exclusive travel deals for summit participants.

These promotions will be valid for flights between December 9th and 20th, 2024. Bookings can be made directly on the MCS 2024 website.

Discounted fares will be available for AirAsia flights to major Asian cities, including Hong Kong, Hangzhou, and Manila.

Additionally, delegates arriving in Kuala Lumpur can take advantage of AirAsia Ride for local transportation. The summit experience will be further enhanced with Santan meals by AirAsia and exclusive merchandise.

MCS 2024: A Platform for Growth

Qube Integrated (M) Sdn Bhd organized the event in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). MCS 2024 is to be a flagship program commemorating the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China relations.

The Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) will host the event from December 17th to 19th.The organizers project that the summit will attract 500 exhibitors and 10,000 delegates from Malaysia, China, and ASEAN countries.

The summit will feature a three-day international trade and investment expo alongside a two-day Leadership Conference.

YBhg. Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture offered comment. He emphasized the importance of partnerships in fostering regional connectivity and cultural exchange.

He also highlighted efforts to position Malaysia as a top tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination in Asia.

Richard Teo, Executive Chairman of Qube Integrated and the summit’s organizing chair, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration with AirAsia.

He believes AirAsia’s extensive network and innovative services will provide affordable and convenient travel options for attendees worldwide.

AirAsia Regional Commitment

AirAsia Group Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Caroll, highlighted the airline’s commitment to strengthening Malaysia-China ties through tourism.

He emphasized AirAsia’s role in supporting Tourism Malaysia’s goal of welcoming five million Chinese tourists in 2024. The recent visa-free entry agreement between the two nations facilitated this travel.

He also mentioned AirAsia’s expansion beyond leisure travel. This includes the launch of their AirAsia Corporate Travel Programme to cater to business travelers.

In addition to AirAsia, the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM) has joined as a new strategic partner. This partnership aims to leverage CECCM’s extensive network and attract businesses to the summit.

Other strategic partners include the Malaysia-China Business Council and the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce, The National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, and the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau.
