This service between Perth and Kuala Lumpur from AirAsia Berhad will be in addition to the Airbus A330s that already operate the route under the X subsidiary.

For this particular new service, starting in March 2024, it will be operated by an Airbus A321neo.

Commenting on this addition was Perth Airport’s Acting CEO Kate Holsgrove, who said the following on this:

“Malaysia is Western Australia’s fifth biggest international visitor market, injecting $88 million into the WA economy in visitor expenditure for the year ending in June.”

“Malaysia is also a popular holiday destination and, combined with a large number of passengers also visiting friends and relatives, will continue to be an important market for outbound visitation.”

“We’ve got strong business, education, trade and tourism links with Malaysia and this new non-stop service provides further opportunities.”

“This is another significant step forward in WA’s international aviation recovery – and it is positive to see more airlines wanting to operate out of Perth Airport.”

“We look forward to building a strong partnership with AirAsia Berhad to ensure the success of this service.”

All eyes will be on how this new service performs, as well as whether there is further scope to expand this going into the future.
