The new Globalia hangar is set to launch operations in March, with the most recent Boeing 787 delivery for Air Europa taking place last month.

Sergio Ramos, Commercial Sales Director Europe & Israel at The Boeing Company said the following on the milestone:

“[The airline] has been a key partner in Europe for the 787 Dreamliner program and we are delighted to directly deliver the first 787s to the Air Europa fleet from early 2020.”

“The 787-9 will allow Air Europa to continue to expand its operations profitably. by opening new long-range routes, as well as contributing to an impressive 20 to 25 percent improvement in fuel consumption”.

Adding to this was Juan José Hidalgo, president of Globalia:

“It is a great satisfaction to show this new infrastructure today, for the first time, as well as to welcome one more Dreamliner to our fleet.”

“Air Europa continues to advance on the path of growth, consolidating itself as an airline of the future, key to connectivity between Europe and America”.

“This center of excellence will be a reference in maintenance. Furthermore, we are happy that it is the perfect environment to work with our 787s, the result of the trust that two strategic partners such as Boeing and AerCap have in our project”.

All eyes will be on how this enhanced relationship will perform in due course.
