Air Canada has announced a significant expansion of its Asia-Pacific network capacity, a move set to reshape the travel landscape from mid-December through the summer of 2024.
This regional network enhancement comes as the Canadian national carrier moves to meet the soaring demand for the region, while aligning with its international diversification strategy.
Meeting Demand Head-On
“Air Canada’s Asia services continue to reflect strong demand, and we are boosting capacity to this geographic area as we deploy our international diversification strategy,” shared Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning, at Air Canada.
With a keen focus on the upcoming winter season, the airline is poised to offer up to 57 flights per week between Canada and Asia, a number that will rise to an impressive 64 flights per week come next summer.
Hong Kong and Shanghai
During the festive December holidays and the Lunar New Year travel periods, Air Canada plans to delight passengers with up to double daily flights to Hong Kong.
Additionally, larger aircraft will be deployed to Shanghai, enhancing both capacity and comfort for travelers during this peak travel season.
New Heights in Japan
The Land of the Rising Sun will witness a remarkable 96% increase in capacity compared to the previous winter.
This surge in flights highlights Air Canada’s commitment to providing more options and convenience for passengers heading to Japan.
Singapore on the Horizon
Adding to the excitement, Air Canada is gearing up for the launch of its new route to Singapore.
This move, combined with increased capacity on the popular Bangkok route, signifies the airline’s dedication to investing in the fast-growing markets of Southeast Asia.
Culinary Excellence at 30,000 Feet
Air Canada takes pride in showcasing some of Canada’s finest culinary talent on its international flights.
Renowned chefs such as David Hawksworth, Vikram Vij, Antonio Park, and Jérôme Ferrer contribute to an exquisite culinary journey for passengers.
Complementing this experience is a curated selection of top wines, handpicked by leading Canadian sommelier Véronique Rivest.
Air Canada’s international travelers have the added advantage of earning and redeeming points through Aeroplan, Canada’s premier loyalty program.
Eligible customers enjoy a range of perks, including priority check-in, access to Maple Leaf Lounges, priority boarding, and exclusive benefits like the coveted Signature Suite at YVR and Toronto Pearson.
Air Canada’s Global Hubs
The investments made in Air Canada’s global hub airports seamlessly link the airline’s extensive North American network to its international flights.
This interconnectedness not only ensures convenience for travelers but also presents a compelling option for both leisure and business journeys.
