A scheduled easyJet service operating from Lisbon, Portugal to Paris was forced to make a precautionary diversion to Bilbao last week after the flight crew reported smoke in the cockpit.
easyJet flight U24592, an Airbus A320-200 operating from Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) on 15 February made an en route diversion to Bilbao Airport (BIO) in Spain after the operating crew detected smoke in the cockpit.

Flight data shows that flight U24592 departed Lisbon at 09:58 local time before setting because normally on the northerly route to Paris.
The flight had progressed normally, climbing to cruising level FL380 before encountering smoke in the cabin at a point to the north-west of Bilbao in Spain.
The flight crew reportedly donned oxygen masks as a precautionary measure before electing to make a diversion into Bilbao Airport, where the flight landed just under 30 minutes after the in-flight incident.
The flight did not squawk transponder code 7700 and proceeded with the diversion under normal flight operating procedures.
The aircraft operating last week’s U24592 service to Paris Charles de Gaulle was an Airbus A320- 200 registered OE-ING; a six-year-old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier easyJet.
The aircraft has been in operational service with the carrier since its initial ferry flight from the Airbus Toulouse facility in February 2018.
A replacement A320 aircraft was dispatched by the carrier to on handle the passengers from Bilbao to their Paris destination.
