Information has been released pertinent to this incident, which we will get into in this article.

United Airlines Flight UA3702 Greenville-Spartanburg-Newark…

United Airlines flight UA3702 is a routine scheduled flight between Newark & Greenville-Spartanburg.

Also, the aircraft involved in the incident is N763YX.

As per data from Planespotters.net, N763YX is a 1.1 year old Embraer E175 that was delivered to Republic Airways in June 2023.

It was transferred over to United Airlines Express on the same date.

Moreover, of the E175 variant, the airline has 214 of them in their fleet.

Furthermore, of that 214, all but 22 are in active service, with an average fleet age of 7.2 years.

As well as the E175, United Airlines Express has the following aircraft in their fleet:

  • 73 Bombardier CRJ-100 Series aircraft.
  • 78 Bombardier CRJ-700 series aircraft.
  • 53 Embraer E145 aircraft.
  • 23 Embraer E170 aircraft.

United Airlines flight UA3702 departed Newark at 1605 local time on June 24 and initially climbed out towards Greenville-Spartanburg.

It is understood that the aircraft stopped it’s climb at around 7,000 feet, as per reporting from The Aviation Herald.

From there, the aircraft made a u-turn followed by a series of holds back into Newark.

The aircraft landed safely without further incident at 1648 local time, around 43 minutes after departure.

It is understood the cause was a cracked windshield on the aircraft.

Aircraft Grounded For Two Days…

Following the incident involving United Airlines flight UA3702 Newark-Greenville-Spartanburg, the aircraft was grounded for two days.

The aircraft re-entered commercial service on June 26, and has operated flights to the following destinations since then:

  • Portland
  • Washington Dulles
  • Columbus
  • New York LaGuardia
  • Burlington

There is no information to suggest currently that the FAA will be investigating this incident.

This is due to the fact that it is a maintenance issue as opposed to a wider issue with the aircraft itself.

Following the incident also, a replacement aircraft was dispatched to get passengers to Greenville-Spartanburg from Newark.

It is understood to have landed around three and a half hours late.

Overall, no additional incidents have been reported with the aircraft, and is operating as normal.
