Wizz Air Introduce New Generation A321neo Fleet at Luton LLA

London Luton Airport (LLA) and Wizz Air are moving towards a more sustainable future with the early introduction of a new generation of Airbus A321neo aircraft.

This collaborative effort significantly reduces the environmental impact of flights at Luton Airport. This aligns with both companies’ unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility.

A Commitment to Greener Skies

The switch to the Airbus A321neo fleet, implemented on March 31st, 2024, sees a 20% decrease in fuel consumption. It also nitrogen oxide emissions in half compared to Wizz Air’s previous aircraft.

This achievement furthers LLA’s Responsible Business Strategy. This is a roadmap that prioritizes minimizing environmental and societal impact while promoting sustainable travel practices.

LLA Supporting Sustainability Drive

LLA stands out in sustainability efforts amongst major UK airports. They are one of only three to achieve Level 4 of the prestigious Airport Carbon Accreditation scheme.

Additionally, LLA has been recognized as a sustainability leader for two consecutive years by the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB).

Data compiled by aviation specialists RDC Aviation Data further solidifies LLA’s position as a sustainability leader.

Their analysis reveals a trend comparative to other major European airports. Proportionally more flights departing from LLA between April and August 2023 utilized new-generation aircraft.
