The way this was implied by the airline was that the service would only operate over the Summer, which is now year-round.

It is understood that the airline will be operating the route on a five times per week basis through the colder period.

Furthermore, the city has been used as the main highlight in an overarching piece on frequency boosts for the period.

As we will come to see throughout this piece, there are also other announcements made by the airline.

  • ZRH-San Francisco – Increased to daily flights.
  • ZRH-Miami – Increased to twice-daily flights.

The airline will also be providing daily services between ZRH and Shanghai in due course too.

Furthermore, closer to home in Europe, SWISS has also made the following decisions on flights:

  • Daily flights to London Gatwick.
  • Three weekly flights to Cluj-Napoca.
  • Three weekly flights to Kosice.

For the routes listed above, including the Zurich-Washington DC flights, it shows how SWISS is growing.

Furthermore, it is clear that demand is spreading well from Summer travel into Winter.

That period is typically quieter than the Summer season, so again it is promising that trends are heading in this direction.

Overall, all eyes will be on how the rest of the Summer performs for the airline as well as the quieter Winter period.
