SAS Connects Copenhagen to Atlanta with New Daily Service

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), has expanded its SAS flights across the North American network with a brand new daily nonstop service between Copenhagen, Denmark, and Atlanta, Georgia.

This caters to the ever-increasing demand for transatlantic travel, offering a convenient and offers connection between Scandinavia and the vibrant heart of the southeastern United States.

Inauguration of Copenhagen-Atlanta Service

Kicking off on June 17th, 2024, SAS commenced daily nonstop flights from Copenhagen to Atlanta. This new route presents a gateway to a city brimming with cultural experiences, rich history, and a diverse culinary scene.

Passengers arriving in Atlanta will find themselves at the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

This major hub offers seamless connections for SAS passengers beyond Atlanta, thanks to its role as a central hub for Delta Air Lines, a fellow member of the SkyTeam alliance.

With this partnership, SAS customers gain access to a vast network exceeding 1,060 destinations served by SkyTeam member airlines.

For even greater travel flexibility, SAS has already begun integrating Delta flights into its booking systems.

The new Copenhagen-Atlanta route caters to a broad spectrum of travelers. “SAS is thrilled to expand its offerings for both business and leisure travelers,” says SAS Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Verhagen.

Leisure travelers can immerse themselves in the unique charm of Atlanta and conveniently connect to various destinations across the U.S., while business travelers will find Atlanta to be a prime destination.

As a significant hub city, Atlanta boasts numerous Fortune 500 companies, making it a lucrative and essential location for business ventures.

SAS and Delta Collaboration

This new route signifies a strategic move that strengthens the existing collaboration between Scandinavian Airlines and Delta.

“Working closely with SAS will further bolster Delta’s presence in Northern Europe, offering our customers improved access to key destinations,” says Alain Bellemare, Delta’s E.V.P. & President – International.

“This bilateral agreement is a cornerstone of our long-term strategy to connect Delta customers globally. SAS’s new nonstop service between Copenhagen and Atlanta, a major European hub for SAS. This marks a strong foundation for even greater future cooperation between our airlines.”

The Scandinavian Airlines Copenhagen-Atlanta route will be operated with a choice of Airbus A330 and A350 aircraft. Both aircraft types offer a variety of travel classes to suit diverse travel preferences.

Passengers can choose from SAS Business, SAS Plus, and SAS Go, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable journey for SAS flights across the Atlantic.
