ACMI charter specialist KlasJet has announced an expansion of its partnership with EL AL Israel Airlines (EL AL) with the deployment of a further Boeing 737-800.

This involves the lease of a third Boeing 737-800 aircraft, further solidifying the collaborative relationship between the two aviation operators.

The aircraft will be deployed to Sun D’or, a wholly owned subsidiary of EL AL, during the summer season of 2024.

EL AL Israel Airlines: A Legacy of Excellence

EL AL, established in 1948, is Israel’s national carrier and one of the most respected airlines in the world.

Renowned for its unwavering commitment to safety and security, EL AL operates a robust network of passenger and cargo flights across Europe, North America, and the Middle East.

The airline takes pride in its modern fleet and exceptional customer service, consistently earning recognition for its in-flight hospitality and premium travel experiences.

In recent years, EL AL has strategically expanded its operations to cater to the growing demand for seasonal travel.

This includes utilizing additional aircraft during peak tourist seasons to ensure seamless and efficient travel for passengers.

Sun D’or: EL AL’s Seasonal Wing

Sun D-or is a wholly-owned subsidiary of EL AL, established specifically to manage seasonal flight operations.

The subsidiary carrier plays a crucial role in enabling EL AL to meet the surge in passenger demand. This is particularly so during the busy summer months, especially for popular leisure destinations.

By leveraging Sun D’or, EL AL can maintain its core network and high service standards while efficiently managing seasonal fluctuations.

ACMI Operations: A Flexible Solution for Airlines

ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) leasing is a growing trend within the aviation industry.

It allows airlines to acquire temporary access to additional aircraft and crew. This enables them to meet specific operational needs without the significant investment required for fleet expansion. This flexible solution offers several advantages for airlines:

  • Cost-Effectiveness: ACMI leasing eliminates the upfront costs of purchasing new aircraft and the associated ongoing maintenance expenses.
  • Operational Flexibility: Airlines can readily scale their operations up or down based on seasonal demands or specific route requirements.
  • Risk Mitigation: ACMI leasing allows airlines to test new routes or markets without committing to long-term investments.
