JetBlue, New York’s long-standing Hometown Airline® (Nasdaq: JBLU), announced today that it will begin service from Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) for the first time.

Tickets are on sale now, with flights commencing this October. The new service includes connections to Orlando International Airport (MCO), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), and Palm Beach International Airport (PBI).

This expansion aims to provide convenient travel options for JetBlue’s loyal Long Island customers, connecting them with popular Florida destinations.

Strengthening the New York Network

JetBlue has been New York’s Hometown Airline for over two decades and the sole major U.S. airline headquartered in New York City.

This addition also strengthens JetBlue’s presence within the New York Metro area. It complements existing operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

“Long Island is a vital part of the New York Metro area, and we’re thrilled to offer our award-winning service to this vibrant community,” said Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships.

“Adding Long Island MacArthur Airport to our network expands convenience and choice for our customers.”

“We’re proud to provide more Long Islanders with the chance to experience JetBlue’s unique combination of low fares and exceptional service.”

Long Island Welcomes JetBlue’s Arrival

“Residents of Long Island have long requested JetBlue service, and we’ve been listening,” said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.

“As Town Supervisor, I’m delighted to embark on this new partnership. We’re committed to ensuring the success of our business partners at Long Island MacArthur Airport.”

“Our airport is a cornerstone of our region’s economy. JetBlue’s success at ISP will undoubtedly benefit our community and beyond. Long Island eagerly awaits welcoming visitors to New York through ISP, their very own hometown airport.”

Shelley LaRose-Arken, Long Island MacArthur Airport commissioner offered further comment. “We’ve all collaborated to ensure Long Island travelers have more nonstop destination choices.”

“Our convenient hometown airport boasts efficient security lines and offers a stress-free travel experience. Long Islanders have awaited New York’s Hometown Airline, JetBlue, for 24 years. This marks a significant day for both our community and MacArthur Airport!”

Transforming MacArthur Airport

“The addition of JetBlue flights from Islip to Orlando, Palm Beach, and Fort Lauderdale means more Long Islanders can fly to and from MacArthur Airport.” Senator Charles Schumer of New York spoke on the increased connectivity from MacArthur Airport.

“I’ve long advocated for JetBlue service at LI MacArthur. It recognizes Long Islanders’ need for increased travel options and the airport’s role in a thriving Long Island economy.”

Senator Schumer continued, “Under the leadership of Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Airport Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken, the airport has flourished.”

“I’ll keep working with them to secure federal funding for improvements and attract even more airlines.”

“I applaud JetBlue’s decision and remain committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to transform MacArthur Airport into a dynamic economic engine and a world-class transportation hub.”
