Jet2 Celebrates 15 Years of Dalaman Flights

Jet2 has this week celebrated 15 years of flights to Dalaman, with the Turkish destination being a key market for them.

On May 18, 2009, the airline’s first flight to the airport operated from Leeds Bradford Airport, their HQ.

15 years on from the first flight into Dalaman, Jet2 now services the Turkish airport from the following airports:

  • Belfast International
  • Birmingham
  • Bristol
  • East Midlands
  • Edinburgh
  • Glasgow
  • Leeds Bradford
  • Liverpool
  • London Stansted
  • Manchester
  • Newcastle

Yiğit Laçin, CEO of YDA Dalaman Airport celebrated the milestone:

Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy also commented on the milestone, emphasising the growth in the Dalaman market:

“This year marks 15 years since we started operating to Turkey, when we had just one route on sale to Dalaman.”

“Today, we operate a popular programme of flights and holidays to four destinations in Turkey – Dalaman, Antalya, Bodum and Izmir – from the UK and have flown millions of customers to these magnificent destinations.”

In conclusion, this marks another milestone in the development & growth of Jet2 and Dalaman Airport.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on the performance over the Summer 2024 season, a busy point for both sides.

With up to 88 weekly flights into the Turkish airport by the airline, it shows how strong the partnership is.

But for now, both sides will now look to the next 15 years of potential growth.
