HK Express is pleased to announce its newest international route connecting Hong Kong and Clark International Airport (CRK) in the Philippines, launching on 6 June 2024.

As HK Express’ second destination in the Philippines after Manila, the new route to Clark offers customers more opportunities to “Gotta Go” and discover this charming tropical getaway.

To celebrate the new Clark route, HK Express is offering a limited-time introductory fare as low as HK$168 one-way, for trips scheduled anytime from 6 June to 30 November 2024.

The booking window opens at 12pm on 16 April and closes at 11:59pm on 19 April. To enjoy this special rate, simply make flight bookings on the HK Express website or mobile app.

Network Expansion Amid External Constraints

The new route marks a further expansion for the airline into the Philippines market. Overall the low-cost carrier has sought to capitalise on continued strong demand in the Greater Bay Area.

Furthermore, with future network growth on the cards the carrier aims to increase its fleet to a 40 aircraft capacity this year.

Presently operating a fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft, the airline is anticipating further deliveries in the coming months.

Engine Issues & Slot Constraints

Like many airlines, the subsidiary carrier has battled with groundings amid problems with Pratt & Whitney engines.

An additional external factor has been the staunch stop constraints experienced at Hong Kong International Airport

With the proposed launch of a second Philippines route service, the airline nevertheless looks to be making the most of the continued aggressive surge in air travel demand.

Cabin Crew Recruitment

To support its expansion plans, HK Express launched a major recruiting drive for cabin crew this month. Commencing from 1 April, the mass recruitment program casts a broad international net to find talent.

“With air travel returning to normalcy after the pandemic, the demand for airline staff is soaring,” says Vivian So, Director of People at HK Express.

“We’re committed to attracting and retaining top talent by offering a vibrant company culture, competitive pay and benefits, and exciting opportunities for advancement.”

The carrier presents some attractive perks to sweeten the deal. Newly-hired cabin crew members will enjoy a new joining bonus of HKD15,000. Meanwhile, overseas recruits are also eligible for a HKD26,000 relocation assistance.

At a glance, the airline looks to be deftly progressing its network and fleet expansion plans despite external factors.
