ZIPAIR Tokyo, the low-cost carrier specializing in international travel, has unveiled plans to broaden its transpacific network. Starting March 4, 2025, the airline will introduce a new route connecting Tokyo Narita to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

This strategic expansion marks ZIPAIR’s fifth transpacific route, joining existing services to Los Angeles, San Francisco, San José, and Vancouver.

The announcement comes as welcome news for travelers seeking affordable options between Japan and the southern United States.

Strategic Expansion

Texas, the Lone Star State, stands out as a prime destination for ZIPAIR’s growth. It’s the second-largest U.S. state by population and economic size, and home to over 50 Fortune 500 company headquarters.

The state boasts thriving energy, IT, and diverse industry sectors. Its business-friendly tax climate has been attracting major relocations, contributing to Texas having the fastest-growing population in the United States.

The choice of George Bush Intercontinental Airport offers several advantages. It provides convenient access to Houston’s vibrant city center and boasts an extensive domestic flight network within the U.S.

The airport also offers excellent connections to Central and South America, as well as seamless international transfer options.

ZIPAIR: Promoting Low-Cost, Long-Haul Travel

Launched in 2020 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan Airlines, ZIPAIR focuses on affordable long-haul flights. The airline operates a modern fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and offers a customizable in-flight experience with unbundled fares.
