This remarkable achievement came alongside continued growth and strategic expansion in the competitive aviation market. The carrier launched almost 100 new routes, while growing its fleet size by 15%.
Further growth is planned for the coming year, with the airline expecting a further 50 aircraft to be delivered.
2024 Fleet and Route Expansion
The airline introduced 94 new routes, strategically expanding its network and connectivity. A notable addition was the new route connecting London Gatwick to Varna, Bulgaria, providing travelers with more diverse travel options.
Wizz Air simultaneously grew its fleet by 15%, integrating 34 new aircraft into its operations. The current fleet now consists of 226 aircraft. 146 of these are state-of-the-art Airbus A320/21neos that set new standards in performance and environmental sustainability.

Neo Technology Driving Efficiency
Neo technology has become a cornerstone of Wizz Air’s operational strategy, currently powering 65% of its flights.
The airline is committed to further technological advancement, with plans to receive 50 new Airbus A321neo and A321XLR deliveries in 2025 and early 2026.
This strategic investment is expected to increase neo technology aircraft to 77% of the fleet, reinforcing the airline’s dedication to fuel efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
Operational Performance
Wizz Air’s performance in 2024 was nothing short of exceptional. The airline completed an impressive 99.5% of its scheduled flights, ranking third among European carriers for flight completion.
In the United Kingdom, Wizz Air emerged as the second-most punctual airline. It achieved a 70.54% on-time arrival record according to Cirium data. These metrics demonstrate the airline’s commitment to reliable and efficient service.

Customer Experience
Recognizing the importance of customer satisfaction, Wizz Air implemented several significant improvements. The airline tripled its Customer Care centre capacity, ensuring more responsive and accessible support for passengers.
An innovative 24/7 Amelia voice assistant was introduced to provide instant assistance, while a comprehensive new Help Centre platform was launched on wizzair.com to streamline customer interactions.
Sustainability Achievements
Wizz Air’s commitment to environmental responsibility continues to earn industry recognition. The airline was named EMEA’s Environmental Sustainability Airline Group for 2024. It received further accolades including Best Airline for Carbon Reduction and Most Sustainable Low-Cost Airline for the fourth consecutive year. These awards reflect the carrier’s ongoing efforts to minimize its environmental footprint.

UK Market Milestone
The United Kingdom remains a crucial market for Wizz Air. In 2024, the airline celebrated welcoming its 100 millionth passenger—a significant milestone that highlights its growth in the region.
Wizz Air now offers UK passengers access to 94 destinations across 30 countries, including many unique and off-the-beaten-track locations at affordable prices.
