Wizz Air Celebrates 7 Million Passengers at London Gatwick

Wizz Air announces a major milestone: over 7 million passengers have flown with the airline through London Gatwick (LGW) to more than 15 countries.

Wizz Air has announced a major milestone: over 7 million passengers have flown with the airline through London Gatwick (LGW) to more than 15 countries.

The airline marked this achievement on a flight from Budapest to London Gatwick. This coincided with the recent delivery of its 132nd Airbus A321neo aircraft in Hamburg.

To commemorate both its 20th anniversary and this passenger milestone, Wizz Air hosted a ‘lucky dip’ competition at the airport. Twenty lucky winners each received £100 Wizz Air vouchers.

Wizz Air Operations at London Gatwick

Since establishing its Gatwick base in October 2020, Wizz Air has steadily expanded operations. The airline now flies to 26 destinations across 17 countries from London Gatwick.

This includes popular routes to Athens, Krakow, Prague, and Vienna. Wizz Air currently employs 250 people at its Gatwick base.

Adding to its network, the carrier recently launched a new summer route from London Gatwick to Varna, Bulgaria. This addition offers UK travelers a further option for exploring new destinations.
