Biman Bangladesh flight BG127, originally bound for Abu Dhabi from Chittagong, made a diversion to Dhaka on June 25.

Biman Bangladesh Flight BG127 – Chittagong to Abu Dhabi: Dhaka Diversion…
Biman Bangladesh flight BG127, which diverted to Dhaka, is a routine scheduled flight between Chittagong and Dhaka.
Also, the aircraft involved in this incident was S2-AFL.
As per data from Planespotters.net, S2-AFL is a 23.0 year old Boeing 737-800 that started out life with American Trans Air in July 2001.
Thereafter, in March 2003, the aircraft was handed over to ATA Airlines, before being sent to GOL in March 2005.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines took delivery of the aircraft in January 2010.
Furthermore, of the 737-800 variant, the airline has six of them in their fleet, of which all are in active service with an average fleet age of 15.0 years.
As well as the 737-800, Biman Bangladesh Airlines have the following aircraft in their fleet:
- 4 Boeing 777-300ERs.
- 6 Boeing 787 Family aircraft.
- 5 De Havilland Dash 8s.
BG127 departed Chittagong at 2204 local time on June 24 and initially climbed out to Abu Dhabi.
However, not long into the flight, the aircraft deviated north in the direction of Dhaka.
After a series of holds in two different directions, Biman Bangladesh flight BG127 from Chittagong and originally bound for Abu Dhabi, landed safely without further incident into Dhaka at 0126 local time on June 25.
Furthermore, as per The Aviation Herald, it is understood the reason for the diversion was due to a cracked windshield.
Aircraft Grounded Overnight…
Data from RadarBox shows that the aircraft was grounded overnight on June 25.
Following repairs made to the aircraft, the aircraft re-entered service the same evening.
Since the incident on BG127 Chittagong-Abu Dhabi resulting in the diversion to Dhaka, the aircraft has operated the following rotations:
- BG386 – Dhaka to Kuala Lumpur.
- BG387 – Kuala Lumpur to Dhaka.
- BG584 – Dhaka to Singapore.
- BG585 – Singapore to Dhaka.
Following those rotations, no other incidents have been reported on the Biman Bangladesh Boeing 737-800.
For now, we can consider this incident rectified, and the necessary fixes have been made to ensure strong operational reliability.
