A Vueling flights operating from Barcelona to Manchester declared an emergency while approaching the destination on 3 September 2024.
Vueling flight VY8746, an Airbus A321-200 inbound from Barcelona El Prat Airport, squawked transponder code 7700 whilst on descent into Manchester Airport (MAN).

According to the online source Flight Emergency, an on-board medical issue prompted the declaration of emergency. Priority was then given for the approach and landing at the destination airport.

Flight data shows that flight VY8746 and made a delayed departure out of Barcelona (BCE) at 1944 local time. Scheduled departure time for the service was listed as 1850 local.
The flight then set course normally, climbing to flight level FL340 (34,000 feet) for the northerly service to Manchester.
Initial descent procedures were conducted normally, and flight crew squawked transponder code 7700 at 1934 UTC. The aircraft was passing through FL200 in the early stages of descent into Manchester at the time of the emergency declaration.
The aircraft conducting the VY8746 service from Barcelona was an Airbus A321-200, registered EC-NLX. This is a 9.3-year-old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier Vueling. It has been in operational service with the airline since November 2020. Prior to its service with the airline it has passed through a number of European carriers since its initial delivery in June 2015.
