A Vueling Airbus A320-200 operating a service from Palma de Mallorca reported a fuel system issue during its descent into Amsterdam on 31 August 2024.
Vueling flight VY2901, an Airbus A320-200 inbound from Palma de Majorca Airport (PMI) was carrying out its descent into Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) when the problem was detected.

Flight crew reported that they had experienced a minor fuel leak. The flight continued with the descent and approach procedure and landed without incident on RWY36R Amsterdam (AMS).
The flight proceeded under normal operating procedures and the aircraft subsequently conducted a return service following a period of approximately 2.5 hours on the ground in Amsterdam.
Flight data shows that Vueling flight VY2901 had made an on-time departure out of Palma de Majorca Airport. Actual time of departure was logged at 1513 local time on 31 August.
The flight had been set course normally, climbing to flight level FL360 (36,000 feet) for the northerly route to Amsterdam.
Descent and approach procedures were similarly conducted normally. The technical report was relayed by flight crew during the aircraft’s descent.
Aircraft conducting the VY2901 service was an Airbus A320-200, registered EC-JYX. This is a 17.8-year-old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier Vueling. It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in November 2006.
