A Voepass Linhas Aereas ATR-72 operating a regional flight from Rio Verde to Sao Paulo, Brazil diverted to Uberlandia with an electrical problem on 15 August 2024.
Voepass flight 2Z2211, and ATR-72 en route from Rio Verde Airport (RVD) reported a technical problem described as a power surge whilst still on climb.

Flight crew terminated the climb procedure and descended the aircraft below 10,000 feet before entering a holding pattern. Subsequent to the holding procedure, the decision was made to initiate a precautionary diversion to Uberlandia, Brazil.
The aircraft then landed at Uberlandia Airport (UDI) without incident, approximately 45 minutes after discontinuing the climb.

Flight data shows that flight 2Z2211 had departed from Rio Verde Airport and climbed to flight level FL170 before flight crew terminated the climb.
Shortly thereafter the aircraft was descended to 9000 feet and entered the holding procedure before the decision was made to initiate the precautionary diversion.
The aircraft conducting the 2Z2211 regional service was an ATR-72-212A, registered PS-VPA. This is a 9.1 year old regional turboprop aircraft belonging to the carrier Voepass Linhas Aereas.
It has been an operational service with the airline since March 2023.
