Vistara flight UK624, an A320neo inbound from Udaipur, has declared an emergency, squawking code 7700 while on decent to Mumbai.

A Vistara flight operating from Udaipur to Mumbai has declared an emergency whilst approaching the destination.

Vistara flight UK624, operated by an Airbus A320neo, declared the emergency with squawk code 7700 whilst on descent into Mumbai.

07:20 UTC: Approach to Mumbai (BOM)


Having declared the emergency shortly after its top of descent, Vistara flight UK624 has expedited its approach to the destination Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Mumbai (BOM). The flight is now passing through 2,000 feet in the latter stages of its approach.

The nature of the emergency has not yet been confirmed.

Having declared an emergency whilst approaching Mumbai from Udaipur, flight UK624 has now landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Mumbai (BOM).

Flight data shows that Vistara flight UK624 had made a departure out of Maharana Pratap Airport (UDR) Udaipur at 1156 local time today. The flight had then proceeded normally, climbing to flight level FL380 (38,000 feet) for the regional service to Mumbai.

Descent was initially conducted normally, and flight crew squawked transponder code 7700 at 0704 UTC. The aircraft was on early descent through FL270 when it squawked the emergency transponder code.

The aircraft conducting today’s UK624 rotation from Udaipur was an Airbus A320neo, registered VT-TNV. This is a 4.9 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier Vistara. It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in December 2019.
