During the second quarter (Q2) of 2024, VINCI Airport’s handled nearly 81 million passengers. This is an 8.2% increase over Q2 2023 and a 1.8% increase over 2019, pre-pandemic.

During June 2024, VINCI Airports added both Edinburgh and Budapest to its network, which certainly helped jump their figures. Excluding these two new additions, their increase was 7.5% over 2023.

Portugal saw a historic passenger record at Madeira, with the month of May achieving a 52% passenger increase over May 2019. Certainly fair to say that Madeira has fully recovered from the pandemic and is back to full-scale growth.

France’s Nantes also saw record passenger levels in May, mainly due to increased services between both Spain and the United Kingdom. Belgrade in Serbia also saw a increase of services, with Air Serbia up 6%, Lufthansa up 9% and Swiss up 12% when compared to 2023 levels.

For the United Kingdom, London’s Gatwick airport saw a benefit from services to the Mediterranean, U.S. and China. Mainly due to new services from Air China, China Eastern and Norse Atlantic. VINCI Airport’s new addition Edinburgh, also saw a sharp rise with increased capacity from these airlines; easyJet, Jet2, KLM, Lufthansa, SAS, and British Airways.

Cape Verde saw a growth in May due to increased services between France, Portugal and the United Kingdom.

VINCI Airport’s other new addition, Budapest, also saw growth, with Wizz Air basing two new aircraft and an increase in services from Ryanair.
