Vietnam Airlines has further expanded its fleet with the delivery of its fifth Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner.
This marks a significant milestone, as it also becomes the airline’s 30th wide-body aircraft. To celebrate, Vietnam Airlines hosted a grand event at Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport on 31 July 2024.
The 787-10, the largest member of the Boeing 787 family, boasts impressive capabilities. With a range of nearly 12,000 kilometers, it can comfortably connect Vietnam to destinations worldwide.
The aircraft features a spacious two-class configuration, accommodating 24 passengers in luxurious Business Class and 343 in Economy Class.
Vietnam Airlines Fleet Expansion
Dang Anh Tuan, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines, expressed the airline’s commitment to fleet expansion and passenger comfort.
“Being a flag carrier of Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines is committed to upgrading and expanding our fleet,” hes aid.
We aim not only to provide the highest levels of passenger comfort but also to fulfill our mission of connecting Vietnam with the world.”
He further emphasized the role of Vietnam Airlines in driving economic and social progress.
Boeing 737-10 Configuration
The Boeing 787-10 offers a superior passenger experience with cutting-edge technology and modern amenities.
Highlights include a spacious cabin, comfortable seating, ample overhead bins, advanced entertainment systems, and a serene cabin environment with adjustable lighting, clean air, and optimal humidity.
Business Class passengers can indulge in ultimate comfort with the Dreamliner’s staggered herringbone layout.
Each seat offers direct aisle access, privacy, and full flat-bed conversion for restful journeys. Additional amenities include personal entertainment devices, dimmable windows, and ample personal space.
Beyond passenger comfort, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner excels in efficiency and minimizes environmental impact.
With 25% lower fuel consumption and emissions compared to previous generations, it contributes to a greener aviation industry.
Current Fleet Status
Vietnam Airlines’ fleet now comprises nearly 100 aircraft, including five Boeing 787-10s, eleven Boeing 787-9s, and fourteen Airbus A350s.
These wide-body aircraft serve key routes to Northeast Asia, Europe, Australia, the United States, and domestic connections between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The ongoing fleet expansion is crucial for meeting the growing travel demand, especially during peak periods.
This is particularly important given the global aircraft shortage caused by engine recalls.
