Uzbekistan Airways has signed a lease with SMBC for two Airbus A321neo aircraft, scheduled to join the airline's fleet in 2026.

Uzbekistan Airways, a leading Central Asian airline, has announced a significant expansion of its fleet through a partnership with SMBC Aviation Capital.

The agreement involves the lease of two Airbus A321neo aircraft, scheduled to join the airline’s fleet in 2026. This strategic move aligns with Uzbekistan Airways’ ambitious plans to expand its route network. The airline has a firm strategic focus on solidifying its position as a regional air travel leader.

The Airbus A321neo aircraft will enable the airline to offer more flights to destinations across Europe and Southeast Asia. The fleet additions further facilitate enhanced connectivity and travel options.

Strategic Focus on Regional Growth


Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, spoke of the acquisition and the airline strategic focus. “We are dedicated to providing exceptional air travel experiences to our passengers,” he stated.

 “The Airbus A321neo aircraft will enhance our ability to offer comfortable and exciting journeys. It will also contributeto our goal of becoming a leading force in Central Asian air transportation.”

Conor Stafford, Head of Airline Marketing at SMBC Aviation Capital, commented on the partnership. “We are delighted to support Uzbekistan Airways’ growth and expansion,” he said.

“The fuel-efficient A321neo aircraft will empower the airline to meet the increasing demand for air travel in the region and provide a sustainable and efficient service.”
