BBN Airlines Indonesia is a prominent player in the Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance (ACMI) solutions sector within Asia. It has forged a significant wet-lease agreement with US-Bangla Airlines, a leading carrier based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

This strategic alliance will see BBN Airlines Indonesia provide operational support with two leased Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.

This will facilitate US-Bangla Airlines’ expanding network and meet growing passenger demand.

Deployment of 2 Boeing 737 Aircraft

Under the terms of this agreement, BBN Airlines Indonesia will deploy two modern Boeing 737-800NG aircraft. The two leased narrowbodies will bolster US-Bangla Airlines’ operational capabilities.

The first of these aircraft successfully commenced flight operations on April 1, 2025, marking an immediate enhancement to US-Bangla’s services. The second Boeing 737-800NG is scheduled to join the fleet in early May 2025, further solidifying the partnership’s impact.

Both aircraft provided by BBN Airlines Indonesia are configured with an all-Economy class layout. US-Bangla Airlines will deployed the two aircraft on its international routes originating from Dhaka.

They will support key destinations across the Middle East, Thailand, the Maldives, and Singapore. Crucially, the aircraft and their dedicated flight and cabin crews will be fully based in Dhaka.

This ensures integration into US-Bangla Airlines’ existing operational framework.

ACMI Package

The ACMI solution offered by BBN Airlines Indonesia includes the aircraft itself, flight and cabin crews, all necessary maintenance services, and comprehensive insurance coverage.

This holistic approach allows US-Bangla Airlines to concentrate its resources and expertise on core business functions such as network management, route optimization, and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Martynas Grigas, Chairman of BBN Airlines Indonesia, expressed his enthusiasm for this new venture. “This partnership signifies a pivotal moment in our strategic expansion within the dynamic Asian aviation market.”

“We are immensely proud to collaborate with US-Bangla Airlines and provide them with high-quality ACMI capacity that directly supports their ambitious strategic objectives and demanding operational requirements.”

Jitendra Pandey, Head of Commercial & Contracts at US-Bangla Airlines, highlighted the significance of this collaboration for their airline. “US-Bangla Airlines has consistently sought out reliable and reputable partners for ACMI leases to support our growth.”

“Our agreement with BBN Airlines Indonesia marks our second successful ACMI partnership with a company within the Avia Solutions Group. Our past experiences with other entities within the group have been overwhelmingly positive, particularly due to their remarkable agility in understanding and adapting to the specific operational and cultural nuances of our region.”

“We are highly optimistic about forging a successful partnership with BBN Airlines Indonesia and anticipate a long-lasting and mutually beneficial association.”

All critical operational preparations, including the logistical positioning of the aircraft, regulatory compliance with relevant aviation authorities, and crew readiness, were accomplished in an impressively short timeframe of just three to four weeks.

In addition to the flight crew provided by BBN Airlines Indonesia, a representative crew member from US-Bangla Airlines will be present on each flight from Dhaka. This strategic inclusion aims to ensure a consistent and familiar experience for US-Bangla’s valued passengers.

Support in the Asia-Pacific Region

As a dedicated ACMI provider, BBN Airlines Indonesia continues to play a vital and increasingly active role in supporting the growth and expansion of airlines across the broader Asia-Pacific region.

US-Bangla Airlines currently operates a diverse and modern fleet, which includes six Boeing 737-800 aircraft. It also fields ten ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft, and two wide-body Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

This strategic collaboration signals BBN Airlines Indonesia’s expanding influence and growing footprint within the regional ACMI market.
