A US Bangla Airlines Boeing 737-800 operating a service from Chittagong to Dubai, UAE diverted to Nagpur, India due to an engine issue on 20 June 2024.
US Bangla airlines flight BS343 was en route to Dubai to the west of Nagpur when flight crew detected the engine problem.

From a position to the west of Nagpur, the operating crew made the decision to divert to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport (NAG) as a precautionary measure.
Having initiated the turnaround, the aircraft subsequently landed without further incident approximately 45 minutes after the diversion was made.
The aircraft was subsequently repositioned to Dhaka Bangladesh, following the unscheduled landing in Nagpur.
Flight Details
Flight data shows that flight BS343 made an on-time departure out of Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport (CGP) at 08:14 local time.
The flight then set course normally for Dubai International Airport (DXB), claiming to cruising level FL360 (36,000 feet).
Flight crew subsequently initiated a turnaround and diversion approximately 200 nautical miles to the west of Nagpur whilst in the cruise.
The aircraft conducting the BS343 service to Dubai was a Boeing 737-800, registered S2-AJG. This is a 10.7 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the Bangladeshi carrier US-Bangla Airlines.
The aircraft has been in operation when the carrier since November 2022. Prior to its service with the airline it saw operation with India’s Jet Airways from its initial delivery in October 2013. It was transferred to the Indian carrier SpiceJet in May 2019.

US-Bangla Airlines, established in 2014, has rapidly emerged as a significant player in Bangladesh’s aviation sector.
Based in Dhaka, the carrier’s main hub is at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Operating as a private airline, it has grown to become one of the largest in the country.
It operates a fleet primarily composed of Boeing and ATR aircraft. US-Bangla serves both domestic routes within Bangladesh and international destinations including Southeast Asia.
The airline, owned by the US-Bangla Group, a prominent Bangladeshi business conglomerate, has consistently expanded its operations since its inception.
It offers both passenger and cargo services, competing with other domestic carriers like Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Novoair.
US-Bangla’s growth trajectory has been marked by an increasing fleet size and route network. Its growth reflects the rising demand for air travel in the region.
